On June 18, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Tulare Police Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a residence on the 1700 block of Cotton Court in the City of Tulare.
Officers arrived on scene and contacted a female victim, who reported that her husband had threatened her with a weapon and held her against her will.
Responding officers attempted to make contact with the male subject using a public address system, phone calls, and text messages. Despite multiple efforts, no response was received. Tulare County Mental Health personnel, the Tulare Police Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team, SWAT Team, and Investigations Unit were called in to assist with the incident.
After further unsuccessful attempts to communicate with the subject, a police robot was deployed into the residence. The robot located the 30-year-old male, a Tulare resident, deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
