Responds to live fire, EMS, and law enforcement incidents
Captures photo and video content in the field
Provides accurate, timely updates
Works closely with CVIC leads and local agencies
Preferred: Scanner/radio knowledge, basic journalism/photo experience, own gear/vehicle
Monitors radio traffic and dispatch calls
Relays key updates to the team
Assists with managing real-time alerts and social media posts
Great for remote or off-scene contributors
Manages emails, media requests, and agency relationships
Helps grow CVIC’s presence through partnerships and PR
Professionalism – Always respect the scene, the public, and first responders
Integrity – Fact-first reporting and ethical content sharing
Safety Awareness – Know your limits; never interfere or put yourself at risk
Teamwork – Stay connected, communicate, and support one another
Passion for Public Safety Media – This isn’t just content—it’s service
Team ID and branded CVIC apparel (after probationary period)
Priority access to major incidents and team coverage coordination
Mentorship from experienced media responders
Exposure across our fast-growing platforms
The chance to tell stories that matter—right from the front lines
Must be at least 13 years old (under 18 requires parental consent).
Must own and submit original content (no third-party footage allowed).
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Ability to follow ethical journalism and media standards.
Must be available for on-call assignments (varies by role).
Must have Reliable Transportation.
